Naoya Masuda #52

  I will introduce the baseball player Naoya Masuda this time. He is a 32-year-old pitcher who has played for the Chiba Lotte Marines since 2012.

 His characteristic as a baseball player is his three-quarter form. In addition, his two-seam fast ball and reades a speed of 152.km/h, His variety of sliders, sinkers, cut balls and breaking balls is also attractive. 

 Masuda has played more than 50 games 9 times in the decade since joining the team in 2012. In 72 games, his Rookie year he recorded 2 wins, 2 losses, 41 holds and 1 save. He won the Rookie of the Year award by breaking the record of 71 games and 34 holds. The next year（2013） he pitched in 68 games, with a record of 2 wins, 6 losses, 9 holds, 33 saves and an ERA of 2.76 and won the most saves title. In the next few years, He was unable to achieve outstanding results due to relocation and poor performance.　


 However, he pitched in 54 games, the most in the league, 3 wins, 5 losses, 5 holds, 31 saves, 2.25 ERA in 2020. In addition, he pitched in 67 games in 2021, winning his twice most saves title with 3 wins, 6 losses, and 38 saves. Without his performance, the team's performance might have been worse.
